Sailing regatta 'Sochi Grand Marina Cup' has become the main event in the opening of the summer season and the day of the city. The competition was held jointly with the Sailing Federation. The winner was waiting for a brand new sports dinghy of the “Optimist” class in a complete set.
The sailing regatta was held in two distances, it was attended by adults-amateurs and children-pupils of the sports school number 13 of the city of Sochi and the school of the Olympic reserve of the Krasnodar Territory, 50 young optimists. And while at sea there was a struggle for leadership in the race, on the shore everyone was treated to a sweet treat from the king of cotton candy - David Storm. For fans of jazz music, a saxophone performed by Alexei Sobol sounded on the pier. An exhibition of photographs with rare shots of the seaport of the 40s of the last century unfolded on the pier.
Children from the neurorehabilitation center “Impulse” and children from boarding school number two took part in the celebration. They went to sea on sailing catamarans to follow the course of the race, and also enjoy a boat trip. At the end of the event, the young participants of the regatta were treated to pizza and ice cream right in the sea. Well, the Sochi athlete Mikhail Petrov received the main prize.
